Where is Melina born?

Melina emerged as the thesis project of Aleisabel Ruiz Ríos, creator, director, and choreographer of this work. Deeply inspired by her experience attending a similar production in New York, Aleisabel began to imagine a narrative that fused classical myth with emotions.

contemporary.

The result : a living work that seeks to connect with the body, emotions and the collective unconscious.

The work is based on the myth of Hercules, reimagined from an intimate perspective, where strength becomes vulnerability and heroism becomes questioning.

Immersive physical theater

Immersive physical theater is a form of performing art where the audience ceases to be a passive observer and becomes an active part of the theatrical universe. There is no traditional stage or fourth wall: the audience moves freely through the space, choosing their own path, deciding which characters to follow and from what angle to experience the experience.

In Melina, every performance is different. Each person lives their own version of the story. Corporeality replaces dialogue, and silence speaks as much as movement.

We believe that art has the power to transform when it is

lives from the body. Immersive physical theatre allows

the viewer not only sees a story, but feels it,

smell it, touch it and, in a certain way, be the protagonist of it.

This format invites a deeper, emotional connection

and sensorial that challenges the barriers between artist and audience.

In a world oversaturated with screens and stimuli,

We seek to make the body the center of the experience again.

Our vision

Melina is more than a work: it's a constantly evolving experience. We want to bring it to new cities, alternative spaces, national and international festivals, and collaborate with artists from different disciplines. Our goal is for each season to be different, and for each viewer to take away something unique, something that moves or transforms them.

We are developing an expanded experience that includes audiovisual material, creative process logs, and workshops on immersive physical theater.

In the future, we hope to establish ourselves as an experimental art company with international reach. We want Melina to be just the beginning of a series of performing arts experiences that will tour the world, engage with different cultures and contexts, and sustain themselves so we can continue sharing art that moves, provokes, and transforms.

About the creator

Aleisabel Ruiz Ríos is an interdisciplinary artist, choreographer, and director. She has been involved with movement since the age of two, and with music since the age of three. Her career includes dance, composition, artistic direction, sound design, and experimental performance creation.

A graduate in Communications with two minors in Sound Design and Experimental Creation, she has developed works that intersect the body, sound, and nonlinear narrative.

With Melina, he consolidates his pursuit of a visceral, intimate, and multisensory stage language. He is also working on other stage and sound projects focused on empathy, mythology, and what it means to be human.

She is currently preparing to begin her Master's degree in Live and Digital Performance in Milan, with the goal of further honing her skills, expanding her creative range, and continuing to develop artistic experiences that surprise, move, and connect people around the world.
